The petition of Margerie Bee alias Mynshall of Nantwich, Cheshire, Trinity 1655

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justic[e]s of the Peace for and within this Countie of Chester.
The humble Petic[i]on of Margerie Bee al[ia]s Mynshall of Namptwich in the said Countie widowe
Humblie sheweth
That yo[u]r Petic[i]oners late husband being (formerly) a Soldier in the service of this Com[m]on Wealth vnder the Right ho[noura]ble Robert late Earle of Essex, was in the same service slayne, leaveing yo[u]r Petic[i]oner then with Child and destitute of subsistence, haveing noe other meanes to obteyne the same, but her owne industrie and dayly labor, Whereby shee yo[u]r Petic[i]oner hath sithence her said husbands death obteyned her owne livelyhood w[i]thout being burthensome or chargeable to any, vntill it pleased God to deprive yo[u]r Petic[i]oner of her Ey sight, whereby she is altogeither disabled to obteyne her owne livelyhood as formerly by reason wherof yo[u]r Petic[i]oner hath suffred many hardshipps, and is now left destitute of Comfort,
The p[re]misses considered yo[u]r Petic[i]oners humble request is, that yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps would be pleased to take her deplorable Condic[i]on into yo[u]r judicious and tender considerac[i]ons, and be pleased (in this her soe greate Exigencie) either to afford her an yeerely stypend to be payd her Quarterly as for others in like Cases hath bin and is p[ro]vided, or els to take such other course for her releife, as yow in yo[u]r grave Wisdomes shall adjudge meete
And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner as in dutie bound will ever pray for yo[u]r Wor[sh]ips in all health and p[ro]speritie longe to contynue
