To the Hon[oura]ble Court of Generall Quart[e]r Sessions holden at Chelmsford the 15th of January 1655
The humble petition of Margeret Walker of Coggeshall widdow
Humbly sheweth
That whereas your petition[e]rs husband Peter Walker was in the service of the parliament for many years and was in many battells & feigts, viz: At Edghill, at Yorke, & at Hull one yeare & half, and at Naseby, and being at being at Shereborne Castle under Capt[ain] Sanders in Colonell Rainsburrows regiment, was slayne, and left your petitioner a poore destressed widdow Wherfore as alsoe (for that your petitioner have for many yeares since remained a very poore Widdow, and with great labour and hardship have gotten her liuing soe long as God gave her abillity of body, to liue of her selfe, but now being growne aged & sickly, is noe wayes able to maintaine her selfe She humbly prayeth this Hon[oura]ble Bench to com[m]isserate her destressed condition, and to be pleased to allow her some small yearly pension during her life (which is likly to be short) to keepe her from perishing
