The petition of Margaret Vawdray of Knutsford, Cheshire, 4 May 1647

To the hon[oura]ble S[i]r George Booth Kn[igh]t Barronett & the rest of his ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace at the Quarter Sessiones houlden at Knuttesford the 4th of May 1647
The humble petic[i]on of Margerett Vawdray daughter of William Vawdrey late of Knutts[ford]
Humbly sheweth that yo[u]r petic[i]o[n]o[r]s Father beinge a souldier for the service of kinge & Parliment was slaine in the service at Hardin Castle and yo[u]r poore petic[i]o[ne]r beinge a weake impotent child altogather vnable to gett her owne livinge and destitute of Frends or meanes to subsist vpon without the p[ro]vision from yo[u]r Wisdomes care is likely to p[er]ish: the pr[e]mises tenderly considered.
May it please yo[u]r honors to grant Order that shee may haue a competent mentainan[ce] [illegible] forth of the [illegible] Parish of Rosterne yearly that shee may not be a burthen to any particuler nor sterue for want of nesse[ca]ryes, and shee will humbly pray.
