To the right Worshipfull John Bear Esq[uire] and the rest of his Maj[es]ties Justices for the s[ai]d County

Major William Knowles humbly petitioneth y[ou]r worshipfull bench to com[m]iserate his pr[e]sent poverty & great age of eighty years & being now indebted humbly prays this honourable court to bestow something on him out of y[ou]r County Stock towards ye paym[en]t of his debts & for his more comfortable subsistance soe long as it shall please almighty god

And yo[u]r petitioner shall ever pray for &c:
