The petition of Lieutenant Adam Molyneux, Sir Theophilus Jones’s Regiment, 14 November 1650

<The humble petic[i]on of Leiu[tenan]t Adam Molyneux>

To the right Hon[oura]ble the Lo[rd] deputy gen[eral] of Ireland

Humbly shewing to your Lo[rdshi]p that your petic[i]oner about November last marching with a partie of horse and foot from Dublin to Wexford, being assalted by the enymy betweene Glascarrig and Wexford, your petic[i]oner was sore wounded, and lost in the saide service a horse of greate price and all other his accootrements of warr; so as your petic[i]oner was necessitated to run in dept for supplying that losse and fournishing himselfe w[i]th a horse and other necessaries fit for the service

May it therefore please your Lo[rdshi]p to take your petic[i]oners case into consideration, and advanse sume supply out of the treasury to be defalked out of your petic[i]oners intertainem[en]t, whereby he may be inabled to satisfie those creditors who soe readyly supplyed your petic[i]oners necessities; and he shall ever pray &c.

Kilkennye Nov[ember] 14th 1650.

I desire Mr Standish the Dep[u]ty Treas[ure]r to pay unto the petition[e]r Fortye poundes upon the Acc[oun]t of his Arrears of p[er]sonall paye, For w[hi]ch his receipt beeinge taken, I shall thereupon signe a warr[an]t to the Treas[ure]rs accordinge to Forme.

Theis are to require you out of such Moneys as are or shal bee appointed for payem[en]t of ye Forces vnder the Comaund of his Ex[cellen]cie ye Lord Leiut[enant] of Ireland and for ye Incident Charges of the saied Forces to issue out and paye vnto Leiut[enant] Adam Mulleneux Leiut[enant] to Maior Merrideths Troope in Col[one]l S[i]r Theoph[ilus] Jones his Regim[en]t the sum[m]e of forty pounds vpo[n] the Accompt of his personall entertaynm[en]t And for soe doeing this w[i]th the receapt of ye saied Leiut[enant] Adam Mulleneux shal bee yo[u]r sufficient warr[an]t and discharge; Giuen vnd[e]r my hand this 16th of November 1650.
