The petition of Lewis John David of Llanyfydd, Denbigh, c. 1662 to 1667

To the right Wor[shi]pp[ful] the Justices of the peace for the county of Denbigh sittinge at this pr[esen]t quarter Sessions.

The humble petition of Lewis John David of the p[ar]ish of Llanvfydd in the county of Denbigh sheweth

That yo[u]r poore peticener beinge a daylie laborer was in the late vnnaturall Rebellion, pressed a souldier for his late Ma[jes]tie of blessed memorie, and did for the space of Seaven yeares then next after faythfully serue his said Ma[jes]tie vnder the com[m]aund of Coll[onel] William Wynn Coll[onel] Ellis and Maior Hugh Wynn and did suffer imprisonment seu[er]all tymes and at one tyme havuinge longe remayned in prison had a gatheringe within the said p[ar]ish of Llanvfydd which did then p[ro]cure his enlardgment, and now beinge decayed in his health and haueinge a chardge of many smale children and not able to mayntayne his wife and children:

Humblie prayeth

That yo[u]r Worr[shi]pps takeinge the premisses into consideratc[i]on and duelie weighinge his sad condic[i]on doe appoint yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner what pention as in yo[u]r wisdomes shall seeme meet and yo[u]r petic[i]oner shall eu[er] pray &c.

I doe belieue the matter of this petic[i]on to be true
