The petition of Lawrence Richardson of Wetherby, West Riding of Yorkshire, January 1678

To the hon[oura]ble Bench at the sessions holden at Weath[e]rby.
The humble Petic[i]on of Lawrence Richardson of Wetherby aforesayd, Pensioner.
Sheweth,
That whereas your poore petitioner had an Annual pension of Forty shillings fauourably granted at Pontefract Sessions about three years since, And hath but receiued the yearly sum[m]e of Twenty shillings since that time, And Thomas Hardacres of the sayd Towne Pensioner being lately dead, who also receiued a Pension of twenty shillings yearly.
Therefore your petitioner being very poore aged & Lame doth humbly beg, That hee may haue your honours Order to receiue the deceaseds Pension quarterly, & his owne, they both amounting to the sayd sum[m]e of Forty shillings yearly to him form[er]ly granted.
And he and his shall dayly pray &c.
