The petition of Lawrence Key of Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire, Easter 1678

To the Right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the Peace of & for the County of North[amp]ton[shire].
The humble Petition of Lawrence Key of Irtlingborrough in ye afores[ai]d County, Labourer.
Humbly sheweth.
That whereas yo[u]r poor petition[e]r hath formerly been a souldier in ye service of his Ma[jes]tie King Charles ye First of ever blessed Memory, & form[er]ly hath had a Pention granted him of 40 s. p[er] Ann[um]. And whereas yo[u]r poore Peitition[e]r is now growne very Ancient & infirme, & is brought into extreame poverty, insomuch yt he is altogether vnable to maintaine himself & his poor family. And whereas also yo[u]r said Petitioner is now become conformable to the Church of England
May it therefore please yo[u]r Wo[rshi]pps to continue ye afores[ai]d pention vnto yo[u]r poor Petitioner for the maintenance of himself & his poor family
And yo[u]r petition[e]r shall eu[er] pray &c.
