The petition of Katherine Minshall of Church Minshull, Cheshire, 7 July 1663

To the Right hono[ura]ble and Right wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace for the County Pallatyne of Chester
The humble petic[i]on of Katherine Minshall of Church Minshall widdowe
<Humbly Sheweth>
That John Minshall yo[u]r petic[i]oners late husband served as a Faithfull souldier and Loyall subject in the late vnhappy warrs vnder the Com[m]and of Captaine Horton And after vnder the Com[m]and of Major Spurstowe And yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs husband had all his estate tooke from him by the Contrary partie to the vtter vndoeinge of yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r and Tenne small Children which yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs husband left behind him at his decease. And that yo[u]r poor petic[i]on[er]s late husband hath continued his Loyally and Faithfully to his ma[jes]tie duringe all the tyme of the late Rebellion And hath not Complied with any the late vsurped powers
Yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] therefore humbly prayes that yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r may by yo[u]r Order be admitted pention[e]r vpon the County And that yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r may receiue such an Annuall sum[m]e and Pention for Reliefe of her Ten Children as you in yo[u]r Judgments shall thinke Fit And yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r as in duty bound will ever pray &c

Its ordered by the Cort that the Churchwardens and overseers of the poore of the p[ar]ish of Churchminshall are to provide for the petic[i]on[e]r and see that the[y] faile not
