The petition of Joyley Wyld, Cheshire, Epiphany 1658

To ye Hon[oura]ble his Highnes Justices of ye Peace for ye Countie of Chester
The humble petic[i]on of Joyley Wyld widdowe
Sheweth:
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[er]s late husband Joseph Wyld did (in his life time (vizt) from March 1642 vntill the time of his death, w[hi]ch was about October last past) faithfully serue ye Parliam[en]t vnder the seuerall Com[m]ands of Colonell Both Collonell Duckenfield and Capt[ain] Philip Eaton As by some of their Certificates herevnto annexed may appeare.
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[er]s said husband dyed in the said seruice and hath left yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[er] and two small children destitute of all meanes or Freinds to releiue them, Insomuch that yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] (though to her power endeauouringe) is not able any longer to prouide for them and herselfe without yo[u]r Hon[ou]rs Comiserac[i]on herein
May it therefore please yo[u]r Hon[ou]rs to admitte yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] a Competent pension for the yearely releife of her and her said two small children And shee shall euer pray &c
<treasur[e]r to allow her 20 s. to Cary her to London>
