The humble petic[i]on of John Williams of Berthgelert.

humbly sheweing to yo[u]r worships that yo[u]r petitioner was pressed to serue his late Ma[jes]tie Charles the first of blessed memorie in the late vnhappy warrs for this County vnder the Com[m]and of Captayne Richard Thomas and afterwards vnder the Com[m]and of Major Hugh Hookes and in the sayd service receaued severall great wounds whereby he is become mayhemed and vnable to earne his liveing

In tender considerac[i]on whereof may it please your worships to admitt him one of the Mayhemed souldiers for this County and to allow him such a p[ro]portion of the mayhemed souldiers mize as your worships shall thinke fitt and may best suite with his pr[e]sent condic[i]on and your petitioner shall ever pray &c.
