To the right Hono[ura]ble & Wo[rshipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace for the Countie of North[amp]ton[shire] att their next generall Quarter Sessions holden at Northampton Tuesday Aprill the xth 1670
The Humble Petic[i]on of John West of Old Stratford in the parish of Cosgrave in the said Countie.
Sheweth
That yo[u]r Pet[itione]r did well & faithfully serve his late sacred Ma[jes]tie King Charles the first of ever blessed memory, in the late warr, without revolting or declineing; and rec[eive]d much hurt in the service. In regard whereof, This County did conferr vpon him a Pension of Fourtie shillinges p[er] ann[um], which your Pet[itione]r rec[eive]d severall yeares together; Vntil about a yeare since (without cause knowne to yo[u]r Pet[itione]r) it was denyde vnto him By w[hi]ch meanes yo]u]r Pet[itione]r is reduced to very great necessite. And therefore most humbly supplicates; That his said Pension may bee soe ordered and continued to him as to this Hono[ura]ble Co[u]rt shall seeme most expedient.
And yo[u]r Pet[itione]r shall ever praie &c
Wee whose names are subscribed doe hereby testifie that allegac[i]ons in the above written Petic[i]on to bee true.
