The petition of John Warner of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, Trinity 1668

To the right Wo[rshi]pfull his Ma[jes]ties Justices of Peace for ye County of North[amp]ton[shire]
The Humble Petic[i]on of John Warner of Wellingborro in the County aforesaid.
Humbly Sheweth.
That yo[u]r Petic[i]oner hath serued his late Ma[jes]tie (of blessed Memory) in the late Warrs in ye Brigade of Horse of Prince Rupert & in the Reig[i]m[en]t of ye right Hono[ura]ble James Earle of North[amp]ton in Capt[ain] Brownes Troope. & since belonging to ye Traine of Artilery. & by reason thereof was very much durprifyed not only by wounds in ye s[ai]d service but alsoe by Plunder & Sequestrac[i]on since to ye very much impov[er]ishing of yo[u]r Poore Petic[i]on[e]r. (& form[er]ly this hono[ura]ble Bench vpon a certificate & Petic[i]on heareing had an Ord[e]r granted for a penc[i]on of 4 li. p[er] annu[m] aboute 5 yeares since) but yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r neuer receiued a penny yet vpon it; but ye s[ai]d Ord[e]r yet remaines in Mr Gostolowes hand
Therefore yo[u]r Petic[i]on[er]s humble request to this hono[ura]ble Bench is yt yo[u]r wo[rshi]pps would be pleased to take his deplorable Condic[i]on [in]to yo[u]r graue Considerac[i]on & renew vnto him his s[ai]d Order that soe he may obteine his arreares due therevpon. & further graunt him such releife as to yo[u]r graue wisdoms shall meete
And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner shall euer pray &c.
It is referred to S[i]r Henry Yelverton Mr Goddard Pemberton & Doctor Langham or any twoe of them to consider his condic[i]on & to order what they thinke fitt therein & in the meantime to pay the Treasurer of the East division to pay him 10 s.
