The petition of John Walker, Robert Wilson and Thomas Brad, all of Thurnham, and Thomas Clarke of Cockerham, Lancashire, Epiphany 1675

To the worship[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace and Quor[um] att the Sessions of peace Holden att Lanc[aste]r for the County Palatine of Lancaster
The humble petic[i]on of Jo[hn] Walker of Thurnham, Rob[er]t Wilson of Same, Tho[mas] Clarke of Cockerham, Thomas Brad of Thurnham very poore men and was the last yeare but one in the list of the Maymed Souldiers
Humbly Sheweth
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs is [sic.] become very poore and who hath in th{e} tyme of Charles the first of ever blessed memory faithfull{y} served him alsoe o[u]r blessed Sou[er]aigne lord the Kinge and never Revolted And that sufficient Certificats formerly w{ere} given in when required vnder the hands of o[u]r Cornells & Captaines of o[u]r fidelitie and the same lodged in the hands of one John Harrison who was then Clarke to the high Constable we humbly begg being very poore that we may be restored into the list of Maymed Souldiers and haue that smale allowance as formerly we had
May it please yo[u]r Worshipps to Consider the poore Condic[i]on of yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs whereby the[y] may be restored & releived & they in duety bound will ever pray &c.
