To the Wor[shi]p[fu]ll John Beare Esq[ui]r[e] and the rest of his Maj[es]ties Justices of the peace at the Castle of Exon in full Sessions Assembled.

The humble petic[i]on of John Symons of Christow in the said County hus[band]man

Humbly Sheweth

That yo[u]r peticon[e]r as a foot souldier served his late Majesty in the late vnhappy warrs and therein was very much brused & dangerously wounded And forasmuch as yo[u]r peticon[e]r is very poore haveing a wife three small Children not able to help one the other, & for that yo[u]r peticon[e]r is much incapacitated to worke & labour to maintaine his said family as hee wishes hee were able to doe

Yo[u]r peticon[e]r therefore prayes yo[u]r wor[shi]ps order for the paym[en]t of such yeerly pention to yo[u]r peticon[e]r out of the County Stocke as to yo[u]r wor[shi]ps shall seeme meete

And yo[u]r peticon[e]r &c

Wee beleiue ye containts of this Petition to be true
