The petition of John Stone, residence unknown, 12 March 1649

<Petic[i]on of John Stone for George Frosts arreares.>

To ye Right Hono[ura]ble ye Com[m]ittee for the Army.

The humble petic[i]on of John Stone Adm[inistrato]r w[i]th ye will annext to George Frost dec[ease]d.

Sheweing

That ye said George Frost hath by his said will annext giuen & bequeathed to yo[u]r pet[itione]r all his arreares (for those ends as are in his said will expressed) w[hi]ch are due for his seruice in ye Army of his Ex[cellen]cie the Lord Fairfax as by the said Will doth appeare.

Forasmuch as yo[u]r pet[itione]r the said George Frost hath serued the Parl[iamen]t as Mattrosse in the Trayne of Artillery in the Army of his Ex[cellen]cie the Lord Fairfax & was shott in his Right Legge att ye Seige before Colchester, of w[hi]ch wound he died as by Certificate vnder the hand of Capt[ain] Tomlins Comp[tro]l[ler] of ye Ordnance doth appeare & haueing some arreares due to him for his said seruice.

Yo[u]r pet[itione]r most humbly prayeth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to giue order for the stateing of ye said George Frosts accom[p]ts & paym[en]t of his arreares to yo[u]r pet[itione]r accordingly.

And he shall pray &c.

<Att ye Com[mi]ttee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Army. 12o Martij 1648.>

<Ordered>

<That ye Com[missa]ry Gen[era]ll of ye Musters or his Deputy doe forthwith certify this Com[m]ittee how George Frost a Mattrosse to ye Trayne & died in the seruice stood vpon the Musters of ye Army & doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.>
