The humble petic[i]on of John Scoleffeilde of Oswaldtwisle

<Sheweth>

That yo[u]r petic[i]oner beinge heretofore in the late Warre A Souldier for the Comonwealth since Intermarried with A wife who is become impotent scarce able to helpe her selfe and yo[u]r petic[i]oners Legge beinge broken in Februarie last itt hath cost him aboue seaven pounds in his Cure and thereby become indebted and haueinge two small Children and not anie meanes for releefe of anie of them and his said Children beinge borne within Oswaldtwisle.

He humblie prayeth such allowance for releefe of his impotent wife and two little Infants (vntill hee bee recovered and able to maintaine them himself as in yo[u]r wisedome may seeme meete And hee shall pray &c
