The petition of John Richardson of Gloverstone, Cheshire, Epiphany 1674

To the Right worsh[ipful] the Deputie Lefft[enants] for the County of Chester.

The humble petec[i]on of John Richardson

Most humbly sheweth to y[ou]r worships yt where as yo[u]r poore peti[ti]oner hath ever beene a true & loyall subiect and a sould[i]er in his ma[jes]ties seruice of late happie memory vnder the comand of Capt[ain] Thomas Chomondely and did continue all the time yt noble Capt[ain] was vnder his ma[jes]ties Comand in actuall seruis and through the vnhappie effects of warr did receiue many wounds to the grete disenabling of yo[u]r poore petiti[one]r all tho did indeauor with grete deligence to the vtter most of his powre to marke for a livlihod

Now may it plese y[ou]r good worsh[ips] most humbly prayeth yt y[ou]r worships would bee plesed to grant hime sume pention w[hi]ch may bee alowd from his ma[jes]tie towards the releife of this y[ou]r poore petitioner in this his sad & gret extrem[ity] now further may it plese y[ou]r worships there is a pention[e]r dead his name was George Leeues and it is the humble soplicac[i]on of yo[u]r poore petec[i]o[ne]r that hee may haue the place of the dece[a]s[e]d pent[i]o[ne]r and your poore peti[tione]r will ever pray &c
