To ye Wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace for ye County Pallatine of Chester held at ye Quarter Sessions at Knotsford: Octob[e]r 8th 1672
the Humble petic[i]on of John Ravenshaw of Wrenbury in ye said County of Chester
<humbly sheweth>
That wheras yo[u]r said Petic[i]oner hath allwayes served his late Ma[jes]tie of blessed memory as a Trooper in ye late Warrs vnder ye Comand of ye R[igh]t Hon[oura]ble ye Lord Gerrard of Brandon and did neuer desert ye said Service dureing all ye times of vsurpac[i]on is now reduced to great want and poverty & not able to sustaine himselfe any longer:
In considerac[i]on wherof yo[u]r Petic[i]oner humbly prayeth this Wor[shipfu]ll Bench to take his Sad condic[i]on into your Wor[shi]ps considerac[i]on and to admit him to Receave a penc[i]on as a maimed and indigent person and faithfull Subject in ye hundred of Namptwich and your petic[i]oner as in duety bound will ever humbly pray for all yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps &ca:
