The humble petic[i]on of John Pendlebury of West Haughton

Sheweth

that there is a Cottage erected w[i]thin Westhaughton by Will[ia]m Scoles his brother in lawe and yo[u]r petic[i]oner beeing [illegible] maymed in the states service and poore & wanting habitac[i]on was by his brother put into the said Cottage and now his brother is ready to pull the said Cottage downe for feare of the [illegible] penalty of the Lawe for continueing of Cottages vnles yo[u]r petic[i]oner can p[ro]cure the order of this Court for Continuance w[hi]ch if he cannot yo[u]r petic[i]oner is like to sterve

Yo[u]r petic[i]oner humbly prayeth the order of this Court that the said Cottage may Continue for his habitac[i]on soe long as he shall live & as the lawe in that case for poore people giveth yo[u]r hono[u]rs power & lib[er]ty & yo[u]r petic[i]oner will dayly pray

to Continue for his liffe according to the Statute.
