The petition of John Paine of Macclesfield, Cheshire, Trinity 1677

To ye Right worshipfull the Justices of peace For ye County of Chester
The humble pet[ition] of John Paine
Humbly sheweth
That y[ou]r pet[itione]r was a souldier in his ma[jes]ties seruice For six yeares together & Continued Faithfull to ye last as was well knowne to Capt[ain] Dauenport of Woodford & other gentlemen & Aldermen abowt Macclesfield where I haue liued this many yeares who certified ye same vnder there hands the last sessions houlden at Chester in my petic[i]on which was put vp to y[ou]r worships & beinge I ame laime & not able to thruck [sic.] vp to the bench humbly desirs to be admitted a pentioner duringe this short time I haue to liue
& y[ou]r peti[tione]r as in duty boun{d} shall euer pray
