The petition of John Owen of Llaniestyn, Carnarvonshire, 1660

To the right Wo[rshipfu]ll the Justices of the peace of the Countie of Carnarvon.
The humble petic[i]on of John Owen of Llaniestyn in the Countie of Carnarvon.
Sheweth that your petic[i]on[er] sh served as soldier vnder S[i]r John Owens of Clenneney his Colonell and Captaine lieutenant Hugh Hookes of Conwey for the space of fower yeeres and above in w[hi]ch time he was sorelie maymed and the health of his bodie much impayred and alsoe lost the vse of his left [?arme] hand soe that he cannot by reason whereof worke to keepe & maynteyne his wife familie and himself butt must be driven to beg from doore to doore vnles yo[u]r wo[rshipfu]lls speedie prevenc[i]on be had herein
Nowe yow petic[i]on[er] humbly prayeth that it may please yo[u]r wo[rshipfu]lls to admitt him amongest the rest to be of the list of the maymed soldiers to receaue a p[ro]porc[i]on of the mize Assessed and leauyed vpon the com[itatus] of Carn[ar]von, towards his Mayntenaince and yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] will eu[er] pray &c.
These are to Certify all whome it may Concerne, that the Berer hearof John Owen of the parish of Llaniesten in ye Countie of Carnarvon: Hath Been in his Maiestyes seruice in the service Regiment of S[i]r John Owens knight: vnder my Com[m]and And in yt service hee receiued Diueres wounds as Appeareth. Giuen vnder my hand ye 5th Day of January 1660.
