The petition of John Lock of Salford, Lancashire, Midsummer 1658

To the Right worshipfull the Justices of the peace and quorum

The humble petition of John Lock of Salford Linin weauor humbly sheweth that where as youer poore petitioner beinge of the Age of threescore and nine yeares of a and hath beene sore wounded in the service of the Comon wealth soe that both his eye sight is taken from him and hee Lamed and not able to worke whereby to Releeue himself

May it therefore pleas youre worships to take the premises into consideration and some wayes order youre poore pettytioner some Releefe in this case and youre petitioner will as allwayes bond pray for youre health happy nesse and prosperity
