The petition of John Lloyd of Penporchell, Denbighshire, 16 July 1679

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the Peace of the County of Denbigh

The humble petic[i]on of John Lloyd of Penporchell in the s[ai]d County.

Sheweth

That yo[ur] Petic[i]on[e]r  in the late Warres within this kingdome hath served his late Ma[jes]tie of Blessed memory king Charles the first Especially at ye siege of Denbigh Castle vnd[e]r the Com[m]and of Capt[ain] Charles Salusbury dec[ease]d wherein yo[u]r pet[itione]r rec[eiv]ed seu[er]all wounds, & by reason of the hardship of the service & out lyeing lost his health & is become vnable to labour, whereby he is become indigent.

In tend[e]r considerac[i]on whereof yo[u]r pet[itione]r humbly prayeth yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps to admitt him to receiue a penc[i]on amongst ye Maimed & Indigent sold[ie]rs of the said County.

We whose names are vnderwritten thinke fitt that the pet[itione]r haue a quarterly allowance of fifteen shill[ing]s for the time to come & the Tre[asure]r of the maimed sold[ie]rs for the time being, doe pay the same accordingly
