<Sheweth>
That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs had two sonnes, who were always well affected to the Parliam[en]t and in the late warres did beare armes under seuerall Commands in England and had great arreres of pay due to them for the said seruice
That when Colonell William Daniell raysed his Regim[en]t for the seruice of the state in Scotland yo[u]r pet[itioner]s said sonnes inlisted themselues in his Regim[en]t under the Command of Capt[ain] Aldersey and marched w[i]th him into Scotland, and at the fight at Dunbarre in Scotland lost their liues.
That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs said sonnes were in their lifes time the very support of yo[u]r pet[itione]rs by maintaining them w[i]th money in their necessities and other necessaries to keepe them from starving, But since their deaths yo[u]r pet[itione]rs haue langwisht and are in very great want and are very like to starue unles releeued by this hon[oura]ble Bench
May it therefore please yo[u]r good wor[sh]ips to take yo[u]r pet[itione]rs sad condic[i]on to yo[u]r tender considerac[i]ons (they being both great objects of Charity) and to allow them some yearely stipend as pention[e]rs or otherwise
And as in duty bound they will euer pray &c
