The petition of John Hynde of Little Budworth, Cheshire, Epiphany 1661

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace at the Quart[e]r Sessions held at Northw[i]ch.

The Humble petic[i]on of John Hynde of Little Budworth in the Countie of Chester.

<Humbly> Sheweth that yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r was a Soldier formerly vnder the Comand of Col[one]l Marrow and in the late riseinge in this County was a Soldier vnder the Comand of Capt[ain] John Travers in the Regim[en]t of S[i]r George Booth Baron[e]te.

That yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r was wounded at Winington Bridge and lay a long time before hee was able to doe any thinge towards releveinge of himselfe his wife or child And spent all that hee had towards paying for his cure and maintayninge himselfe, the towne w[hi]ch yo[u]r pet[itione]r was hired for not allowinge him any thinge towards his releefe in this deplorable Condic[i]on.

The pr[e]misses Considered yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r humbly prayeth yo[u]r Wor[shi]p that hee may bee admitted a penc[i]oner, hee beinge not able anywayes to sustaine and liue, and beinge disinabled to worke for his livelihood is likely to fall into great povertie and want vnles by yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps favours releeved And yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r as in duty bound shall eu[e]r pray.
