The petition of John Howell of Widworthy, Devon, 3 January 1682

To his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace att the Privie Sessions held at Colyton in the County of Devon the 3d Jan[uary] 1681

The humble pet[it]ion of John Howell of Widworthy in the said County

<Sheweth>

That whereas y[ou]r Petion[e]r had aboute Ten yeares since allowed him as a Pension towards his mayntaynance the sume of 3 li. 10 s. 0 d. p[er] Ann[um] as a poore wounded and maymed Souldiar of his late Ma[jes]tie and in his service, But of late his pay and pencion is brought to 30 s. p[er] Ann[um] w[hi]ch is not able to mayntayne y[ou]r petion[e]r he beinge soe decriped, maymed and old,

May itt please y[ou]r Hon[ou]rs therefore to grant that your petion[e]r might haue his old pencion allowed him for his necessary subsistance & y[ou]r petion[e]r shall euer pray.
