The humble petition of John Hoskinson, Robort Duckard, Richard Stonley, William Broome, Petter Holland, Raphe Farrington, Robert Hall, Tho[mas] Venables, Charles Maddock on the behalf of themselves & all the oth[e]r penc[i]on[er]s w[i]thin the Hundreds of Bucklowe, Macclesfe[i]ld & Northw[i]ch

Sheweth vnto yo[u]r Worships that yo[u]r poore petitioners beinge aged and admitted pentioners, beinge the[y] haue bin faithfull vnto his ma[jes]tie and their estats much decay’d are Constrayned to petition vnto yo[u]r worships for some forther releiffe, yo[u]r petitioners at the first weere admitted at the first to recaiue [sic.] fortie shillings per annum and after a Ceartaine tyme weere taken of to 30 s. per an[n]um w[hi]ch is but small towards the releiueinge of yo[u]r poore petitioners, yo[u]r petitioners hearing that theire is Ceartaine Sum of monies remaininge in the tresurors hands, and that there are seauerall pention[e]rs dead, desire that the[y] may bee admitted to haue the 30 s. made vp 40 s. as formerly the[y] haue recaiued [sic.] it is meere necessitie w[hi]ch Causeth vs to moue yo[u]r Worships herein.
May it theirfore plaise yo[u]r Worships to Consider the premises and take the Condic[i]on of yo[u]r poore petitioners into Considerac[i]on as wee are bound will ever pray &c
