That yo[u]r pet[itione]r As A foote souldier vnder the Comaund of S[i]r Edmond Fortescue faithfully served his most sacred Ma[jes]tie Kinge Charles the first in the late vnhappy warrs in w[hi]ch warrs yo[u]r pet[itione]r was wounded in his Left Legge that itt could never be cured And vpon his blessed Ma[jes]t[y’]s restaurac[i]on Kinge Charles the second yo[u]r pet[itione]r being soe wounded & Maymed obtayned his Ma[jes]ties gratious penc[i]on of Fifty Shillings p[e]r Annu[m] out of the treasury of this County towards his better support & Releiffe. Vntill the late dutch warrs when & ever since or for what Cause (yo[u]r pet[itione]r knoweth not) Tenn Shillings p[e]r Annu[m] hath beene deducted out of the said Fifty Shillings w[hi]ch was much to the Hinderance of yo[u]r pet[itione]r his wound contynuyinge greene & Runynge vpon him & much weakinge his body that hee could not Labour. And now soe itt is that yo[u]r pet[itione]r is growen old his wound Runynge & enfflictinge vpon him in such Currupted manner that hee is able to Labour very little & now hath more Need of Fifty Shillings p[e]r Annu[m] then ever hee hadd. May itt therefore please yo[u]r good Wor[shi]pps to cause an Addic[i]on Againe of Tenn Shillings soe taken from his penc[i]on that hee may Againe Receive Fifty Shillings p[e]r Annu[m] towards his Releiffe in this his old Age his wound beinge incurable & soe festeringe & Runyinge vpon him as aforesaid And yo[u]r pet[itione]r will ever pray &c.
Wee doe beleive the truth of this petic[i]on
