The petition of John Hillman of Tavistock, Devon, October 1660

To the Hon[oura]ble the Justices of Peace for the County of Devon

The Humble Petic[i]on of John Hillman of Tavestocke in the County aforesaid

<Sheweth>

That whereas yo[u]r humble Petic[i]oner being maymed in his left hand, by receiving a wound in his late Ma[jes]ties service of glorious memory as he can make appeare vnder his Captaines hand And now is growne aged & very poore man havinge a wife & Children and not able to worke for theire mayntenance

Yo[u]r Petic[i]oner humbly beseecheth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to take the same into yo[u]r tender Considerac[i]on, and to grant foorth order for yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]rs releife, and that he may haue some mayntenance allowed to him by such provision as is made for other distressed men in such case

And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner shall pray &c
