To the Right wor[sh]ip[fu]ll the Justices of Peace assembled at the Sessions held at Middlew[i]ch.
The humble Petic[i]on of John Hesker of Naptw[i]ch.
<Humbly sheweth.>
That yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]r hath bin a Souldier in the Parliaments Service in this County vnder the Comand of Maior Bromhall Captaine Edwards & Col[one]l Daniell in w[hi]ch publiq[ue] Service hee hath receiued many wounds, by some whereof hee became maymed, whereby hee is very much disabled to follow his Callinge or otherwise to provide (by his hand labo[u]r) sufficient mayntenance for himselfe his wife & Child.
That yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r his wife and Child haue little or noe other mayntenance to subsist on, but what yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r gatts by his owne Labo[u]r w[hi]ch becomes very paynefull to him, by reason of his said Mayme, whereby hee is and wil bee exposed to want and misery, if not seasonably p[re]vented by allowinge him such releife as hee humbly Conceiues the Law renders him Capable of.
May it therefore please this Hon[oura]ble Courte well Consideringe the pr[e]misses to allow yo[u]r s[ai]d Petic[i]on[e]r a Competent Annuall penc[i]on from the Trea[sure]rs (for Maymed Souldier w[i]thin this County) towards his and his wife & Childs Mayntenance, & the rather in regarde hee hath hitherto vndergone soe much hardshipp & Losse w[i]thout seekinge any releife in the pr[e]misses.
And yo[u]r Poore Petic[i]on[e]r will ever pray &c
<Wee whose Names are subscribed doe make bould to Certifie that some of vs know and the rest of vs verily beleeue the Contents of this Petic[i]on to bee true.>
