The petition of John Haigue of Barwick in Elmet, West Riding of Yorkshire, July 1675

To the Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll his Majesties Justices of ye Peace for ye West Riding of ye County of Yorke.
The humble petic[i]on of John Haigue of Barwicke in Elmet.
Humbly sheweth.
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r was a Souldier vnder ye com[m]and of ye wor[shi]p[fu]ll S[i]r Phillip Monckton in his owne Troop, and was at Willowby fight where he received div[er]se wounds and also was vnder him at Pontefract Castle And likewise was vnder Colonell Morris at Pontefract Castle where he likewise received div[er]se wounds, And hath ever beene faithfull & Loyall to his Majesty and his Royall Father of blessed memory, and humbly desires to bee admitted a Pentioner for his said Service what you in yo[u]r wisdoms shall thinke fitt.
And yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r as in duty bo{und} shall dayly pray &c.
This man to be admitted penc[i]oner in the next vacancy of Skirack.
