The Humble Petition of John Gill of Churchminshall in the Countye of Chester Labourer
Humbly sheweth vnto yo[u]r Hono[u]rs that yo[u]r Poore Peti[ti]oner is a verrye Poore Laboureinge man, and hath noethinge to subsist vppon, but what he Gaineth by his one hand Labour and Industree in soe much he is alltogeather vnable to Continewe still the payment of Howse Rent and he beinge a man w[hi]ch serued in the Late war vnder the Commaunde of Colonell Tho[mas] Croxton and Continewes still a Enlisted Souldier for the p[ar]ish before said and vnder the same Commaund w[hi]ch in case yo[u]r Hono[u]rs Poore Petitioner be Commaunded to the wars againe vppon any just occation and having not wherew[i]thall to maintain his wife vppon, whereby shee maye not be Come a Burthen to the p[ar]ish, &c
Humbly Desireinge yo[u]r Hono[u]rs the pr[e]mises Tenderly Considered That yo[u]r Hono[u]rs would be plaised to Assigne yo[u]r Poore Petitioner a small Quantitye of the wast whereby he may Erect a dwellinge howse in the p[ar]ish before said where yo[u]r Hono[u]rs in yo[u]r one wisdoms shall thincke most Conuenient and He and Wee shall Euer Praye &c.
