The petition of John Evens of Lewes (St John’s Parish), Sussex, July 1662

The humble petic[i]on of John Evens prest out of the p[ar]ishe of S[ai]nt Johns in Lewes to this hono[u]rable Bench

Yo[u]r poore peticoner sheweth that he hath beene w[i]th the Tres[ur]er for the maymed Soldiers and he refuseth to pay me this q[ua]rters pention w[i]thout y[o]ur worsh[i]ps order Therefore I humbly intreat yo[u]r hono[u]rs to take my poore condition into yo[u]r consideration that as well as others I may haue this q[ua]rters pay due to me

Mr May it is ordered by us that this Petitioner shall have twenty shillings for this quarter, and butt ten shillings a quarter for the future
