The petic[i]on of John Events of the p[ar]ishe of S[ai]nt Johns in Lewes to this hon[ou]rable Bench

Yo[u]r humble petic[i]oner humbley intreats yo[u]r hono[ur]s that you wold take into considderation my poore and destressed Condic[i]on and grant me my former pention w[i]th the arrears for I am in great want & povertie by Reason of old age & my sight bad and full of aches & paynes so that I am all to gether vnable to doe any thing towards my living so that if yo[u]r hono[u]rs haue not Compastion on me I am like to perrish for want of bread if I be not speedily releived for I haue not any way to supply my wants
