The petition of John Davies of Llandegla, Denbighshire, 12 April 1670

To the right wor[shi]pp[fu]ll his maiestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Denbigh.
The humble Petic[i]on of John Dauies of Llandegla in the County of Denbigh
Sheweth that your peti[ti]oner hath faithfully serued his gratious maiesty and his late father of Blessed memory in theire waris in Ireland and England vnder the comand of the late Duke of Albermarle and Col[one]l Robert Ellis to the greate impayreing of his health by Reason of the seuerall maymes and wound he receaued vpon his body in the sayd seruice as appeeres by the anexed certificate.
Now forasmuch as one Dauid ap Edward (your petitioners father who was a maymed souldier and had and had a pention within the Hundred of Yale) is lately dead may it please yo[u]r wor[shi]pps to conscider your Petic[i]on[e]rs distressed condition and to admit him a pentioner as his said father was and he shall euer pray for your worsh[i]pps &c
