To ye Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll Justices of peace & quor[um] at ye quarter sessions at Or[mskir]ke 17o July 1676.

The humble petic[i]on John Cooke of Sephton

Humbly Sheweth

That your pet[itione]r served kinge Charles ye 1o and kinge Charles ye 2o dureing ye late vnhappy warrs and never deserted ye said service and hath only Rec[eive]d v s. p[er] annu[m] for his pay.

May it please your good wor[shi]pps to augment your pet[itione]rs pay as in yo[u]r discrec[i]on may seeme meet. And your pet[itione]r shall ever pray &c.
