The petition of John Commin of Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, 1 October 1661

To the right hon[ou]r[a]ble hon[ou]r[a]ble [sic.] and the rest of the wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justices of the Peace for the County of Wilts[hire] sitting at Marlebrough this present Session 1o October 1661

The humble petic[i]on of John Commin of Greate Bedwin in this County

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r serued his late Maiesty Charles ye first of euer blessed memory from the tyme that Col[one]l Souch and S[i]r Charles Blunt began to take vp Armes on the behalfe of his Ma[jes]ty aforesaid, and went through many difficultys And receiued a most desperate wound at Church Hanny in the County of Berks[hire] beinge in a troope of his sacred Maiestye that now is, then called the Princes troope in w[hi]ch yo[u]r pet[itione]r was youngest Corporall by reason many disasters from tyme to tyme that happened to yo[u]r pet[itione]r at length yo[u]r pet[itione]r came to Wallingford as by the Pasport herevnto annexed appeareth; yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r by reason of the wound aforesayd is much impaired in his limbs & thereby not able to p[ro]uide for himselfe and family, & beinge really p[er]swaded of yo[u]r hono[u]rs & wor[shi]pps readynes to releeue the afflicted, & creadence in the pr[e]misses

Doe therefore most humbly Implore yo[u]r hon[ou]r and this hon[ou]r[e]d Bench that you wil be pleased to conferr an Annuall Pencheon forth of this County on yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r yt in his declyneing yeares yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r perish not w[i]th want.

And yo[u]r pet[itione]r as in duty bound shall euer pray &c
