The petition of John Bozeatt of Irchester, Northamptonshire, Epiphany 1677

To the right wo[shi]ppfull his Ma[jes]ties Justices of Peace for ye County of North[amp]ton[shire].
The humble Petic[i]on of John Bozeatt of Irchester
Humbly sheweth.
That yo[u]r Petic[i]oner haveing formerly petic[i]oned this hon[oura]ble bench, therein, setting forth that hee was one of his late Ma[jes]ties souldiers, & had rec[eive]d seu[er]all wounds in the s[ai]d service; vpon which account hee alsoe is one of his Ma[jes]ties Penc[i]oners as in the s[ai]d Petic[i]on hee likewise sett forth his lamentable Condic[i]on, for want of an habitac[i]on shewing therein also yt there was a Towne house where yo[u]r petic[i]oner did inhabite, & afterwards by the permission of this hono[ura]ble Bench Matthew Pettitt of Irchester aforesaid did receive yo[u]r petic[i]oner into part of his dwelling house, And that said habitac[i]on being soe much out of repayre & decayed that yo[u]r petic[i]oner & his poore family are in great danger of their lives. And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner humbly certifieth this hono[ura]ble Co[u]rt that Richard Brittenn of Ringstead in the said County of North[amp]ton[shire] Taylour hath a small house in Irchester afores[ai]d & will lett yo[u]r petic[i]oner have itt for an habitac[i]on Provided that your wo[shi]pps wil bee pleased to free him from Inditement for entertaining an Inmate
These are therefore humbly to pray yo[u]r wor[shi]pps that you would bee pleased to take the deplorable Condic[i]on of yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner into yo[u]r considerac[i]on & afford him such further reliefe as to yo[u]r wo[shi]pps shall seeme most meete
And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner shall ever pray
