The petition of John Billinch of Knutsford, Cheshire, 2 October 1660

To the Right Hon[oura]ble his Maiesties Justices of Peace at the Quarter Sessions held at Knottesford the second daye of October 1660
The Humble Petic[i]on of John Billinch of Neither Knottesford
Humbly sheweth vnto yo[u]r Hono[u]rs that yo[u]r peti[ti]o[ner] hath beene a Listed souldier in the late beginning of the warrs and in that service was wounded and Maimed, That amongst others hee was Admitted a pentioner had an order to Receiue from the Treasurer 30 s. p[er] Ann[um] w[hi]ch for some yeares was duely paid him That nowe hee is ould and lame, his weife Blynd, Neither of them able to worke or Labour for to get any thinge towards theire Mainetenance, That hee is much in Arreares for this sayd pencion and in greate want of necessaries whereon to subsist That they are likely to p[er]ish and sterue if not Releiued by others
The pr[e]mysses Considered yo[u]r peti[ti]o[ne]r humbly praies yo[u]r Hono[u]rs will bee pleased to Commisserate his deploreable & wantinge Condic[i]on And to graunt him yo[u]r order that his sayd yearely pencion pf 30 s. maye bee yearely paide him by the Treasurers for Maimed Souldiers as was formerly ordered w[i]th what Considerac[i]on yo[u]r Hono[u]rs shall thinke meete for his Arreares, or what other alloweance yo[u]r Hono[u]rs wisdomes shall Conceiue fittest for & towards the mainetenance of him & his wife and they will ever praye
Wee the Inhabittants of Knutsford whoe [sic] names are subscribed knowing the Contence hereof to bee true make bould to Certifie the same to this Hono[u]r[a]bl[e] bench
