The petition of Jenet Kewe of Quernmore, Lancashire, Midsummer 1651

To the Righte Wor[shipfu]ll Justices of the Peace of Sessions at Lancaster.
The humble Peticon of Jenet Kewe.
Sheweth
That whereas yo[u]r poore peticon[e]rs husband was pressed for a sholdier for the States service and hathe lefte his wife and three smalle Children behind him they not being able for to mentayne themselues desires this wor[shi]p[fu]ll Courte for to take such care for yo[u]r pore peticon[e]r and her Children that they may haue some releife for to mantayne them w[i]th all.
May it theirfor please yo[u]r wor[shi]pps for to take the pr[e]misses into yo[u]r graue consideracon and to graunt yo[u] wor[shi]pps order forth of this wor[shi]pp[full] Courte whereby yo[u]r pore peticonor may haue releife and shee as in dutie bound will euer pray.
