The petition of James Leech, Derbyshire, 30 April 1647

To the honorable Comittee at Derby

The humble petition of James Leech

Humbly sheweth

That y[ou]r petitioner being a Soldier in the Governors foote company being forth vpon servis with the rest of the company was wounded by the enemy by reason whereof y[ou]r petitioner came to Derby to have his wounds cured in which time y[ou]r petitioner was att great losse both by reason that he had noe pay al[l]owed him neither for that time nor since hee being eight & twenty weeks pay behind

These therefore are humbly to desire y[ou]r hono[u]rs to take the premises into consideration & to afford y[ou]r petitioner what satisfaction you shall thinck fit & he as he is bound shall daly pray &c
