The petition of James Holme, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1653

To the Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justic[e]s of Peace of this Countie sittinge at Lanc[aster]:
The humble Petition
of James Holme:
Humbly sheweth that your poore Petitioner hath been a many of yeares a souldier vnder the Com[m]and of Colonell West and Maior Rippon, and now yo[u]r humble petitioner beinge groone into antient yeares aboue 76 and his hearinge and eyesight both failinge him, and not haueinge els wherew[i]th all to subsiste
Humbly Craves the assistance of this Hono[ur]able benche to grant him yo[u]r wor[shi]ps warrant vnto the overseers of this Parish: That what soever yow please to grant me hime that I he may haue it q[ua]rterly; And your poore petitioner shall as he is every bound pray.
