The humble Petic[i]on of James Blackburne of Claughton a poore

That whereas your poore petic[i]oner was actiue in the Late Wars vnder the Comand of S[i]r Thomas Tildsley in the office of a Corporall and therein & by the said service suffered much hardshipp and is now growne into greate poverty

May itt therefore please yo[u]r good Wors[hi]pps ye pr[e]misses Consid[e]red that you would please to add som litle thing to the penc[i]on already bestowed vpon him hee being being a maymed an [sic.] indigent soldier.
