To the Right Hon[oura]ble Justices of the peace of this County of devon At the Generall Sessions

The humble Petition of Issraell Gerd of Crediton

Humbly Complayning

Sheweth vnto yo[u]r worshipps that your Petitioner about Sixteene yeares since being A souldier in his late Maiestyes Army of Famous Memory vnder the Commaund of Captyne Asscot in the Regiment of Sir Allyn Apsley in his said Maiestyes service in the siege of Lyme was there shot in his left hand And Three of his Fingers shot Away whereby yo[u]r Petition[er] being A weaver by his Calling is Altogeather disenabled To get his Liveing by his sayd Calling as before hee could haveing Never Opportunity to complayne of the Same vntill Now, The humble sute of yo[u]r Petitioner therefore now is That yo[u]r Worshipps would bee pleased to take the p[re]misses into yo[u]r most Judicious consideration And to order him such Mayntenance as yo[u]r worshipps shall thinke Fit And your Petitioner shall As In duty hee is bound to doe dayly pray for yo[u]r worshipps &c.
