The petition of Humphrey Gethin of Eglwys Fach, Denbighshire, 16 July 1679

<Denbigh s[ession]s>
To the worshippfull the kings ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace for the County of Denbigh:
Humbly sheweth vnto yo[u]r wor[shi]pps youre petiotioner [sic.] Humphrey Gethin of Eglwys fach in the said county gent That whereas yo[u]r petitioner since the beginning of the late vnhappy war served his his [sic.] late ma[jes]ty as an Ensign in the Regiment of of [sic.] Col[one]l Will[iam] Wynne and in the company of <Capt[ain]> Francis Manley Esq[ire]: vntill the vnhappy death of the said Col[one]l Wynne; And after his death yo[u]r petition[e]r continued in his said late maj[es]tys service as a lieutenant in the Regiment of S[i]r John Owens knight: vnto the fatall Battle at Naseby where yo[u]r petition[e]r was wounded taken prisoner and Brought to London where he continued a long while: all his reale & personall Estate was sequestred and he himselfe persecuted dureing the late vsurpation: wherefore the premisses Considered and for that your petitioner is aged and sickly and cannot maintaine himselfe: May it please yo[u]r worr[shi]pps to releave him according to the late act of parliam[en]t made in that behalf and as to yo[u]r wor[shi]pps shall meet & convenient and yo[u]r petitioner shall every pray &c
