The petition of Hugh Wright of Brixworth, Northamptonshire, April 1683

To the Right Hon[ou]rable his Ma[jes]ties Justices of ye peace at ye Gen[e]rall Sessions for ye County of North[amp]ton[shire]
The humble petition of Hugh Wright of Brixworth in ye s[ai]d County
Humbly Sheweth
That yo[u]r poor Petitione[r] having faithfully served his late Maj[es]tie, in his Warrs a Souldier, & likewise his Ma[jes]tie yt now is in ye Dutch Warr, & hee being now reduced to great Necessetye, & having a Wife & Children to mentaine, & no ways able to doe it.
May it therefore please yo[u]r Hon[ou]rs to allowe unto yo[u]r poore Petit[i]on[er] a yearly Penc[i]on as in y[ou]r Hon[ou]rs you shall think fitt, & yo[u]r poor Petic[i]on[er] as in duty bound, shall ever pray for &c
