The petition of Hugh Wilcoxton of Gawsworth, Cheshire, 13 January 1674

<Com[itatus] Cestr[iae]>
To the Hon[oura]ble his Ma[jes]tyes Justices of the peace at the Gen[er]all Quart[er] Sessions of the peace held at Chester the 13o of January Anno D[o]m[ini] 1673.
The Humble Petition of Hugh Wilcoxton of Gawesworth.
<Sheweth.>
That your Petition[e]r being often imployed in his late Majesties service in the late warres in this Kingdome, was very much maimed in the sayd warres, and did never bear armes against his late or pr[e]sent Ma[jes]tye; as will appeare by the Certificate of Captaine Thomas Greene, who then com[m]anded a company in the Regiment of S[i]r Edward Fitton of Gawesworth Baronet:
Your Petitioner therefore prays to be admitted a Pentioner within the Hundred of Macclesford [sic.] in the room of Henry Henshaw of Gawesworth afores[ai]d late Pentioner who dyed about two moneths agoe; And your Petitioner shall as in duty bound ever pray &c
