To the right worshipfull & truely honored the Justices of peace in Court assembled

The humble petition of Hugh Lea sheweth that

Whereas your poore petitioner hauinge his theighe broken w[i]th a shott in the battaile at Wooster and now lieth vnder the surgeants hand in great miserie and his wiefe beinge fallen sicke theare (who coome to him to tend[e]r him) the premises considered your poore petitioner hauinge noe meanes of his owne nor frend to releeue him in this great miserie your poore petitioner humbly craueth your Charitable consideration & your bountiful helpe for maintenaning in this great miserie & your petitioner shall euer pray for your health & happinesse for euer to bee continued
