The petition of Hugh Jones, Robert Overton’s Regiment, 27 August 1648

<Petic[i]on of Hugh Jones maymed soldier.>
To the Honerable the Com[m]ittee of the Lords & Commons for the Armiee.
The Humble petition of Hugh Jones A wounded siouldyer in the Sauoy Hospitall.
Sheweth
Your petitioner served as footte siouldyer in the Regimentt of Collo[nel] Harbert & sence of Collonell Ouertons in the Collonells Companie about three yeares in w[hi]ch seruice your petitioner receiued a shotte in his thigh at the seidge off Bristow of w[hi]ch wound he lyeth vnder Cure in the Sayd Hospittall being very much broken out againe
That your petitioner hath for his sayd service in the Armie Arrears due to him as by the muster Roulles vpon search will appeare.
May itt please this Honerable Committee to consider your poore petitioners necessity & great missery in this his wounded & helpless condition & of your wanted Clemencie to siouldyers in his Condition for to grant him an order that the Muster Roulles may bee searched that hee may haue A debentor & A warrant for the Receiuing of his Arreares to releiue him in this his sad estate.
& as bound hee shall pray.
